About

Ly Syin Lobster is an experienced writer. Ms. Lobster became interested in journalism and the media at an early age. Her grandfather would read the newspaper to her on Sunday afternoon. She began writing for Central Baptist Church “The Leadership” while she was in high school. Ms. Lobster was inspired to major in Mass Communications after reading an article in the St. Louis Post–Dispatch about Christopher Harris. The article contained information about Harris’s uncle which took the focus on the story away from the fact an innocent boy was killed.

During college, she specialized in electronic media and print journalism. She wrote for the Southwestern College student newspaper, “The Collegian”. Ms. Lobster was awarded a scholarship for her commitment to journalism. After a public speaking engagement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, her sophomore year she was offered an internship at the Winfield Daily Courier. Ms. Lobster was an on air personality for 2 years at Southwestern College’s radio station KSWC. In addition, she was videographer for Southwestern College’s television station SCTV. Ms. Lobster graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Mass Communications.

After graduation, Ms. Lobster went to work at KPOC television station in Ponca City, Oklahoma. While at KPOC, she filled many roles, news anchor, videographer, video editor and producer. In 1998, Ms. Lobster then became more involved with media technology. She began working in the audio visual field and realized technology was changing rapidly. Through work experience, she gained internet and computer software skills including desktop publishing.
